This topic has been moved from our old forum and is one I started off.
We tend to investigate at night purely because this is when we are all
free to do so. Also, if investigating business premises then this is
usually more suitable for the owners. Another advantage of carrying out
an investigation at night is that outside noises are reduced (less
traffic, less pedestrians, less noise in general). The disadvantages, I
suppose, are the psychological effects of being in the dark and the
effects that this has on our senses.
However, is there another
advantage to working in the dark? I know that Steve thinks so. Do
entities find it easier to manifest in complete darkness? I know that
'ghosts' can and have been seen in daylight so how does that work?
Most
investigations involve spending periods in darkness filming with IR
camcorders but is this common place use of Infrared technology actually
hindering paranormal investigators rather than helping them find
evidence of the paranormal? Infrared is still light even though we
can't perceive it. Does it still have a detrimental effect on a ghost
trying to show itself? If so what are the solutions for us? How can we
capture evidence of a manifestation if we are in complete darkness?
